Lufthansa has unveiled new special edition Porsche Design-branded pyjamas in its first class cabins, which I sampled on my flight from Frankfurt to JFK last week.
Special Edition Porsche Design Lufthansa First Class Pyjamas
The pyjamas are made by Van Laack, a German fashion company with its headquarters in Mönchengladbach that has made PJs for Lufthansa and SWISS for many years. When it comes to luxury travel, Lufthansa is known for offering a flying experience that redefines comfort and elegance. Elevating the concept of “home away from home,” Lufthansa’s partnership with Van Laack has brought a touch of sophistication to their first-class cabins.
The collaboration has given birth to the exclusive Lufthansa Porsche First Class Pyjamas, a testament to the airline’s commitment to pampering passengers in style.
Our pyjamas on the flight were black and the big difference was the Mandarin-style collar, which I think looks much more modern than the old style collars. The pyjama set includes a soft and breathable top, along with comfortable pants that allow for ease of movement. The medium sized shirt and trousers fitted well. Thankfully they still have pockets.
Other than the label inside the shirt, I did not notice any Porsche branding on the outside. Porsche Design is a German product design studio and brand founded in 1972 by F. A. Porsche, the designer of the original Porsche 911, known for its high-end accessories. The design of the pyjamas speaks volumes about the attention paid to every aspect of the passenger experience.
The pyjama set boasts a sleek and elegant look, with clean lines and a minimalist yet sophisticated color palette. The design reflects both the Lufthansa and Porsche aesthetics, resulting in a harmonious blend of luxury and modernity. The incorporation of subtle branding elements further adds to the exclusivity of the pyjamas, making passengers feel like true connoisseurs of luxury.
Other changes to the Lufthansa Business Class Service
A few other changes I noticed on my flight:
- Hot towels are back
- La Prairie amenities from the lavatory are gone and in its place are amenities from Augustinus Bader (still expensive, but not quite as premium)
- And unfortunately, the contract with Rimowa had officially ended and there will be no Rimowa-branded amenity kits rotated in.
Van Laack’s heritage in tailoring and impeccable craftsmanship align seamlessly with Lufthansa’s dedication to providing the best in-flight experience. This partnership has given rise to a new standard of in-flight comfort, exemplified by the Lufthansa Porsche First Class Pyjamas. If you’re flying Lufthansa this month, look for special edition Porsche Design pyjamas. They’re much nicer than the pyjamas we’ve seen in recent years. These are really nice-looking PJs that you will want to take with you.
